LB Group's Inspiration East, now in its fifth year, is a special honours scheme launched by LB Group, all about recognising the people who change lives and help others on the path to succeed in business.

In business, as in every walk of life, there are some very special people. They’re to be found in offices, in factories, in schools and in workplaces everywhere. Often their contribution is almost intangible – they’re the people for whom it’s second nature to help and encourage others.

Most of us have known at least one such person. Some of us would name an inspirational teacher or mentor – someone inspired us to reach for the stars.

For others, it’s a warm-hearted colleague who supported us through a difficult time. They offered that much-needed encouragement – perhaps just a kind word or an encouraging email – but it made all the difference.

Or our special individual could perhaps have been an authority figure, but someone who understood how to motivate and get the best out of people at work.

It’s no exaggeration to say that they make a huge difference to those around them. Yet very often, their contribution is never seen by the outside world.
